 ទោះបីភាគីថៃព្យាយាមប្រកែក ឬបង្កើតនិទានកថាផ្សេងៗយ៉ាងណាក៏ដោយ ក៏មិនអាចលាក់បាំងការចោទប្រកាន់ និងភស្តុតាងដែលត្រូវបានលើកឡើងអំពីសកម្មភាពយោធារបស់ខ្លួននៅលើទឹកដីកម្ពុជាបានឡើយ។ ព័ត៌មាន រូបភាព ផ្កាយរណប សក្ខីកម្មរបស់ជនរងគ្រោះ និងការយកចិត្តទុកដាក់ពីសហគមន៍អន្តរជាតិ បានធ្វើឱ្យពិភពលោកអាចវាយតម្លៃដោយខ្លួនឯងថា តើភាគីណាជាអ្នកប្រើកម្លាំង និងតើភាគីណាជាអ្នកទទួលរងផលប៉ះពាល់។

ជាក់ស្តែង ការចេញរបាយការណ៍ និងសេចក្តីថ្លែងការណ៍របស់លោក ថូម៉ាស អ៊ែនឌ្រូស (Thomas Andrews) អ្នករាយការណ៍ពិសេសរបស់អង្គការសហប្រជាជាតិស្តីពីស្ថានភាពសិទ្ធិមនុស្សនៅកម្ពុជា បានធ្វើឱ្យការព្យាយាមបង្កើតរូបភាពថាជា «ជនរងគ្រោះ» របស់ភាគីថៃ ទទួលរងការសាកសួរយ៉ាងខ្លាំងពីមតិសាធារណៈអន្តរជាតិ «បកស្បែកចៀមពីសត្វខ្លា»។ ជំនួសឱ្យការឆ្លើយតបចំពោះក្តីបារម្ភអំពីផលប៉ះពាល់មនុស្សធម៌ និងការវិលត្រឡប់របស់ប្រជាពលរដ្ឋដែលផ្លាស់ទីលំនៅ ភាគីថៃបានជ្រើសរើសវាយប្រហារលើភាពឯករាជ្យ និងភាពជឿជាក់របស់អ្នកជំនាញអង្គការសហប្រជាជាតិ។

នៅពេលការពិតត្រូវបានបង្ហាញ ការឃោសនា និងការបដិសេធមិនអាចជំនួសភស្តុតាងបានឡើយ។ ការពិតមានទម្លាប់បង្ហាញខ្លួនដោយខ្លួនឯង ហើយសហគមន៍អន្តរជាតិក៏កំពុងវិនិច្ឆ័យដោយផ្អែកលើអង្គហេតុ មិនមែនលើការឃោសនានោះទេ។

No matter how strongly Thailand denies or attempts to construct alternative narratives, it cannot conceal the allegations and evidence concerning its military actions on Cambodian territory. Information, imagery, satellite evidence, eyewitness accounts, and the attention of the international community have enabled the world to draw its own conclusions about which party used force and which party has borne the humanitarian consequences.

The recent findings and statements by Thomas Andrews, the United Nations Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in Cambodia, have further challenged Thailand’s attempt to portray itself as the victim “to expose the wolf in sheep’s clothing”. Rather than addressing the humanitarian concerns he raised—particularly the plight of displaced Cambodian civilians and their right to return home—Thailand chose to question the independence and credibility of a UN Special Rapporteur.

When facts come to light, propaganda and denial cannot outweigh evidence. Ultimately, the truth has a way of revealing itself, and the international community will judge the situation on the basis of facts and evidence, not political narratives.
