Please Sharing Knowledge
Preah Theat Baray temple is located in Baray commune, Srey Santhor district, Kampong Cham province. To travel from this temple (out of Phnom Penh), take National Road 6A and cross the Prek Tamak Bridge. The east bank then turns left along the riverbank. Take the paved and concrete roads all the way to Srey Santhor district town, Prek Po town. Continue about 8 km to Prek Dambok market, with Koh Keo pagoda on the left and Wat Prasat Vadey on the right. Hands. Then turn onto the dirt road in front of Wat Prasat Vaddey and travel another 7 km before reaching Baray commune at the temple. Preah Theat Baray is located about 1 km south of this commune. Today, the temple remains a tower made of sandstone and laterite. The tower had entrances from two directions: east and west (the west gate was covered with bricks), and the north and south gates were gates. Deceptive. It is suspected that the temple has three towers because of the remnants of the carvings and relics that have been reused. Through these sculptures, one can think that this temple was built in the 11th century in the Baphuon style. Later, perhaps in the 14th or 15th century, the temple was remodeled by raising a terrace in front of the temple. Take a piece of cake and put it around and make it into a temple. Researchers use the term Buddhist Terrace. More specifically, we still see the construction of temples in front of ancient temples. There are all over Cambodia. There are many examples, such as Nokor Bachey temple in Kampong Cham province, Roka Chanleung temple in Kandal province, Phum Prasat temple in Kampong Thom province, Chet temple in Siem Reap province, Ek Phnom temple in Battambang province and so on. And here I quote: "Near the hill, on the north side, there is the hill of Oknha Ton. Not far from there is Tuol Oknha Pheakdey, at the back of Tuol Preah Theat, about 500 meters away, there is an ancient hill called Tuol Basan. In front of Tuol Preah Theat, there are traces of the Om River, which is called the Om River for men and the Om River for women, and in the middle is a field as a platform for King Kong Tot Behind the Om River, there is a racecourse with scars. In the fields around Tuol Preah Theat, while the villagers were plowing their fields, they found pieces of drainage pipes. Near Tuol Preah Theat, there is a hill that looks like a large ancient brick kiln. At the north-eastern part of Tuol Preah Theat, there is a large pond left over from the time of King Ponhea Yat. All this is a testament to the ancient capital. Please note that the above quote only wants to keep the data about the location and the name of the hill around for the word that is said that this location is The location of the capital of King Ponhea Yat and later King Kan needed further research, and that is what Cambodian, Australian and Japanese archaeologists are exploring. The research project has been underway for four years in the former capital of Longvek (2016 to 2019) and will continue for another three years. Starting at this location this year (2019) and will be able to go to the location around Wat Sithor next year. The main question is, was this really the capital of King Ponhea Yat when he left Angkor in 1431? For study reports, look forward to publishing in the coming years. I have been to this location twice. The first time at the end of 2013 and the second time on Sunday, May 12, 2019. The first time, I went alone with the abbot of Wat Baray Preah Chiv Thom to the second time in an official manner. Together with the professors and staff of the Royal University of Fine Arts, bring students of archeology and architecture to study archeological excavations and The purpose of this study project.
